The Grand Prelate and his seven Prelates.
The Asura Blood Sect (아수라혈교, Asulahyeolgyo), also commonly known as the Demonic Cult (마교, Magyo), was a faction of fanatics who worshiped the blood god Asura, the symbol of carnage and war.[1]
History[]
One hundred years prior to the events of Yongbi The Invincible, the members of the Asura Blood Sect rallied around the Grand Prelate Dokgo Hyeolhu, who was touted as the avatar of the blood god Asura, to conquer the Middle Kingdom. An alliance of righteous factions opposed them, leading to the war of "Black and White" which ended with the sect's defeat. The survivors then fled to the Northwestern borderlands and settled there. This war was also responsible for the creation of the Murim Alliance of righteous factions.[1]
One hundred years later, the eighth Prelate, Cruel Moon Archdemon, and his subordinates journeyed to the Middle Kingdom and participated in the quest for the Golden Castle and the Lightning God's Blue Dragon Sword. At the orders of the Grand prelate, the third Prelate Mad Blood Archdemon pursued them to stop them and bring them back to the Sect. Ultimately, Cruel Moon Archdemon's death at the hands of Goo Hwi and the sect's outdated information on the Middle Kingdom pushed back their plans to invade the Middle Kingdom by at least ten years.[2]

After at least a decade, the Asura Blood Sect, led by the Grand Prelate Okcheonbi, marched from their base in the north and invaded the Middle Kingdom. This led to a great war between the Asura Blood Sect and a coalition consisting of the Murim Alliance of righteous factions and the chaotic factions, eventually ending with the coalition achieving a Pyrrhic victory and the Blood Sect, a complete defeat.[3]
Structure[]
The Asura Blood Sect was a powerful and secretive organization led by the Grand Prelate. There were initially eight Prelates serving directly underneath the Grand Prelate but was reduced to seven with Cruel Moon Archdemon's death.[1] There was also at least one captain among the Prelate's bodyguards.
