Chapter 10: In a village, people talk about the child's journey to find his mother, while going about their day. As a man rides home from the doctor, he notices the boy climbing a ladder made out of vines, and rushes over to help him up. After conversing, the boy agrees to stay the night at the man's house and that the man will take him to Hwamuchon the next day.
Arriving at his home deep in the mountains, the man sees his wife lying on the ground and he hurriedly brings her back into their home while she exclaims that she feel asleep waiting for him. Then the man gives the boy some food and the latter goes to bed.
Early in the morning, the boy attempts to sneak way but he runs into the man's wife outside. In their conversation, it is revealed that she is nearly blind and the boy says that his name is "Jang Icchou". The boy then exclaims that the man is a good person and the wife happily agrees.
The man later returns with his game and wonders where the boy is. His wife tells him that the boy went to the creek to take a bath. As the man prepares his game, his wife mentions that the boy is from Hobuk castle to which he finds strange (Since the boy told the villagers from before that he is from Mukhyangchon, a town by Unnam castle). On a cliff nearby, the boy gazes at the man's home one last time before leaving.
