Chapter 124: In the meeting with a chieftain, the Gold Bug trades a large chest of gold for ownership of one thousand slaves. After participating in a banquet thrown by the nomadic tribe, the Gold Bug and Gongson Seung goes to observe a tribe from atop a cliff. Gongson Seung questions if the tribe are the 'thirty thousand lives' that Yongbi is supporting and the Gold Bug confirms it is. In their ensuing conversation, it is also revealed that even though Yongbi is sending money to help the tribe, he is not doing it out of regret for slaughtering their families in the past. Yongbi does not care how the Gold Bug spends the money and or if it actually helps them or not, all he cares is that the money is being sent to the tribes. Then the Gold Bug and Gongson Seung muses about how Yongbi was able to escape Yogok Gorge despite being separated from Biryong. The Gold Bug speculates that the reason Yongbi is helping the Horselords tribe is because their Prince was the one who saved Yongbi's life.
In a flashback, Yongbi rushes to Yogok Gorge only to be met with the gruesome bodies of his men and the Horselords rolling in the roaring flames. He eventually encounters the Prince who tells him that the war is over and that he should not have come to the gorge. Then an explosion engulfs them both.
Later, Yongbi wakes up in a tent as the Prince of the Horselords sit nearby drinking. Yongbi notices that the Prince has lost his right leg.
