Chapter 17: In a town, two men passes by an elderly beggar. When the men notice him, they get emotional and gives the beggar their money. As the two men leave, they come to their senses and wonder why they gave the beggar all their money. They rush back to the beggar only to once again give the beggar their valuable belongings with one man even snapping off his gold tooth. When they leave again, they wonder why they are acting like this and finally recognises the elderly beggar as the Gold Bug, the king of all beggars in the Middle Kingdom. No one can resist giving him money once they stare into his eyes. Knowing that they will never recover their belongings, the two men leave. A group of beggars watch from afar and lamented the Gold Bug wiping the town clean of money which leaves them with nothing. Then a fixer from the Beggars' Sect arrives to kill the Gold Bug. The fixer unleashes his venomous sable named Lightning Flash, at the Gold Bug. Unexpectedly, Lightning Flash skins himself and presents the pelt to the old man. After, the fixer berates Lightning Flash for his failure. Seeing the commotion from the members of the Beggars' Sect, the Gold Bug leaves.
Elsewhere, Yongbi and Biryong are resting with a swollen and unconscious Goo Hwi lying on a cart nearby. Then the Gold Bug appears and respectfully greets Yongbi.
