Chapter 21: A flashback reveals Heukweol's past. Since he was the bastard son of Lord Moonjoo, and his mother was of lowly status, he would be beaten when he called Lord Moonjoo father. He was regulated to doing chores but the servants wouldn't allow him to considering his status as the lord's son. As Heukweol sat around doing nothing, he took this opportunity to listen to everything around him such as his younger brother Biweol's martial arts training.
Having learned the martial arts just by listening, Heukweol showcased his incredible talent by smashing several humongous iron bells meant for Biweol's training. However, this only enraged his father further who beat him senseless and and berated him for stealing their martial arts. The members of the faction begged Lord Moonjoo to start training Heukweol, citing his incredible talent despite being blind but he vehemently refused.
Eventually, Lord Moonjoo exiles Heukweol, allowing him to live however he pleases accompanied by an extremely gifted and talented girl, Yeonhwa who is capable of memorizing all secret techniques and martial arts. Heukweol once again begs Lord Moonjoo to allow him to call the man father and work under him as an assassin but the latter angrily tells him to leave.
As Heukweol and Yeonhwa make their way across the lands, they bond and Heukweol tells the young girl to call him big brother instead of young master as he saw no differences between people of high and low social status. Later that night, Heukweol discovers Yeonhwa's amazing memorization abilities and that she even interpreted the legendary Lu Family's Spear Style (although not fully). From just having Yeonhwa explain the spear style to him, Heukweol was able to use the Lu Family's Spear Style!
In the present, Heukweol is sent through the wall by Yongbi's kick. When Yongbi moves in to follow up with another attack, Heukweol is unable to counter due to his broken right arm and Yongbi's strike connects...
