Chapter 5: Goo Hwi grabs the boy and questions him on the whereabouts of Yongbi and Biryong. Threatened, the boy lies that Yongbi already left for Mt. Baekta and attempts to enlist the help of Goo Hwi. At the gates, Goo Hwi hilariously attempts to leave by posing as a mother with a sick child, but the guards easily see through the disguise because of his bulky size. The guards attack and Goo Hwi releases his ki, blowing through the gates and creating a massive explosion that engulfs his attackers...

In the morning, Hwangbo grieved for his wrecked garden and that Yongbi managed to escape, briefly insulting his men for their incompetence. When he finally finds out about the boy's escape, Hwangbo promises retribution, noting that he will hire the best assassins to track down Yongbi and the boy. Meanwhile, a woman rides past the scene of death and destruction caused by Goo Hwi and after arriving at a fortress in the lake, her aides disclosed that Yongbi was captured and imprisoned in the dungeon. Yongbi eventually wakes up and tries to recall what happened.

In the flashback, it is revealed that Yongbi took part in a drinking contest, lured by the prospect of enormous wealth. Yongbi consumes 3 Mal of drugged wine leading to his capture. Back at the dungeon, Yongbi gets angry and tries to free himself but only ends up dislocating his arm as the chains are made with "eternal steel". As Yongbi fixes his arm, the woman tells him that his belongings are not enough to pay the interest on the amount he owes her. He then finally recognizes the woman as Hong Ye-mong, the leader of the Red Bloods (The biggest band of information traders and illegal loan sharks in the Middle Kingdom). Hong Ye-Mong reveals that Yongbi swindled money from the Red Bloods, shaking the underground economy to the very core and that they are lucky that this deception has not yet been made public in the Gangho, thus preserving their reputation. At that, Hong Ye-Mong leaves to prepare Yongbi's execution.
