The Cheonwoong Faction (천웅방, Cheon-ungbang) was a powerful righteous faction of the Murim Alliance.
History[]
In the past, the Cheonwoong Faction fought the Black Snake which resulted in many casualties, the conflict eventually ended when they brokered a truce.[1] Goo Hwi claimed that the Cheonwoong Faction first started this war by killing some members of the Black Snake.[2]
During the events of Yongbi the Invincible, the faction was heavily involved in the search for the Golden Castle and Lightning God's Blue Dragon Sword since Sanggwan Chaek collaborated with the demonists that kicked off the search. After the incident at the Hweyang villa, members of the faction such as Elder Jin Paechu and 4th disciple Ga Mugwang pursued Yongbi, Sanggwan Chaek, and the demonists.[3] Master Hyeon Jae-Yang also joined the fray by personally traveling to the Muhae valley to investigate. After the events in the Muhae valley, the Murim Alliance punished the Cheonwoong Faction with probation for three months for their involvement in the matters.[4]
Many years later, the Cheonwoong Faction participated in the war against the Asura Blood Sect.[5]
Structure[]
The Cheonwoong Faction is a well-renowned organisation led by Master Hyeon Jae-Yang, The Divine Lord of Destruction. Underneath him are the ten Great Elders who include Jin Paechu, Woon Seung, Yang Bong, and the High Elder who is also the second-in-command of the faction. Then there are Hyeon Jae-Yang's seven disciples such as Ga Mugwang, Gwan, and Sanggwan Chaek. The faction also has many commanding officers and martial instructors.[6]
