Plot[]
Yongbi the Invincible[]
Volume 4[]
Gwan, arrived at the Hweyang villa after being notified of Yongbi's arrival, he questioned the guards why they didn't send word to him sooner and the guards lied that Yongbi had just arrived. Upon meeting Yongbi, Gwan pummeled Yongbi with his sectioned staff, expressing shock that a martial artist who captured Goo Hwi would fall for such an obvious surprise attack. Sanggwan Chaek mentioned that even their master would have fallen for it in their situation. After finding out that Yongbi had actually arrived a day ago, Gwan left to confront the guards on their lie only to find them missing from their posts. He then saw a group of hooded men approaching the villa's entrance.
Gwan ordered the Asura Blood Sect members to identify themselves but they just sneered at him. Then Gwan's bodyguards drew their weapons as well as one of the hooded men, and both sides prepared to clash. The warrior of the Blood Sect effortlessly killed his first-class bodyguards as Gwan watched in shock. When the warrior insulted the Cheonwoong Faction, Gwan became enraged and wielded his four-sectioned staff. As Gwan moved in to attack, Sanggwan Chaek appeared and unleashed a technique on the Blood Sect members.
Sanggwan Chaek held off the Asura Blood Sect warriors while Gwan rushed to inform headquarters of their situation. As Gwan escaped, he ran into Cruel Moon Archdemon and proceeded to attack him. Sanggwan Chaek noticed this and attempts to stop Gwan but the Blood Sect warriors hindered him. Gwan struck Cruel Moon Archdemon with a powerful attack but to his shock, Cruel Moon Archdemon was unscathed (thanks to his regeneration). Cruel Moon Archdemon praised Gwan's martial art prowess before taking him down. Cruel Moon Archdemon and his subordinates later float down onto the building across Yongbi with the former holding Gwan's limp body.
The Prelate then dropped Gwan's body onto the roof and engaged Yongbi in battle. At some point, Ilgak brought Gwan to safety to the Cheonwoong Faction headquarters and treated his injuries.
Volume 5[]
Lying unconscious in a room, the High Elder and Great Elders checked up on Gwan. The High Elder examined Gwan and found out that the rapid decay of Gwan's body (due to the Demonic Techniques) had stopped and the flow of his ki was returning. Later elsewhere, the traitorous Sanggwan Chaek thought back to his relationship with Gwan and expressed grief over what happened to him.
Volume 15[]
Having recovered back to full health, Gwan went to the ruins of the Hweyang Villa to inform Hyeon Jae-Yang (who was spending a lot of his time at the villa ruminating), that a messenger from the Murim Alliance had arrived.
Powers and Abilities[]
All of Hyeon Jae-Yang's disciples are considered to be martial art geniuses without peer and Gwan does this reputation full justice having reached such a high level of martial arts at a young age.[2]
Weapons[]
Gwan wielded a four-sectioned staff in battle which he maneuvered with phenomenal skill. The staff enables him to perform wildly different attacks, the power of which are difficult for his opponent to predict.[3] The sections can also be locked together to form a single long staff.
