Hyeol Pyo (혈표, Hyeolpyo) used to be a member of the infamous White Skulls bandits. After defecting, he went into hiding and posed as Lord Nam, the scion of a noble family.
Appearance & Personality[]
Hyeol Pyo had black hair that was tied into a knot on the top of his head, thick eyebrows, sunken cheekbones, and a goatee. He wore the typical robes of the time and a headband. Some distinguishing features of his were the large scar running horizontally across the bridge of his nose, and his peg leg.
He was a product of his difficult life where he had to do unscrupulous deeds to survive. This affected his negative views on the poor and weak, and even though about taking advantage of them for his own pleasure but ultimately never did. However, he truly did have a conscience as he donated money to the poor and just before his death, expressed regret for never truly finding peace.
History[]
He stated he had a harsh life and spent all of it trying to survive by all means; killing, pillaging, and fleeing. Then one day he got tired of that kind of life and fled the White Skulls gang. Along with a crate of gold he swiped from them, Hyeol pyo went into hiding and posed as Lord Nam with the story that he was the scion of a noble family.[1]
Plot[]
Rock-Paper-Scissors[]
Gang Ryong delivered dumplings to Lord Nam who gratefully over-paid him, telling him it was a small donation for the poor. Gang then gave Lord Nam some ginseng from the local ginseng digger and then told him that the villagers always asked how he was doing even though they owe him nothing, something which resonated with Lord Nam. At that, Gang headed off and Lord Nam ate some of the ginseng before badmouthing the villagers and musing about how he could take advantage of their kindness, before dropping the ginseng and looking sullenly at the ground.
Later, Wang Ahk and the White Skulls gang ravaged his residence and killed his guards. Wang drew close to the beaten Lord Nam, and addressed him by his real name "Hyeol Pyo". Wang challenged him to a consolation game of rock-paper-scissors, but Hyeol Pyo declined before reminiscing about the villagers and musing aloud that this was the perfect way for him to die. Wang belittled him and told him to play but Hyeol Pyo refused to play Wang's childish games, greatly infuriating the latter who killed him in ire.
