Volume 5[]

He was travelling with Hwangbo Soong's party when suddenly, bandits stopped the carriage and the servant driving the carriage called for his master. Hwangbo Soong came out and called to him and Chomu to deal with the bandits.

Later at a home, Hwangbo Soong presented a chest containing several gold bars to Wang In inside a hut while his servant and guards waited outside. After spying on them, Chomu talked with Lim Jin-Choong and expressed his discontent on how much money the Wang In will receive compared to himself. They both also reveal their treacherous nature and hinted at betraying Hwangbo Soong. Suddenly, a large boulder flied out of nowhere and crushed Hwangbo Soong's carriage. A large group of bandits confronted them and their boss introduces himself as Goo Hwi, the Heaven Ravager King!

After expressing surprise that the fake Goo Hwi looks different from his wanted poster, Chomu prepared to fight, citing his desire to see who was stronger. The fake Goo Hwi ordered some of his men to attack and Chomu dealt with them effortlessly. With his men's failure, the fake Goo Hwi threw a gigantic boulder at Chomu but he evaded it with a flip in the air and the boulder barely missed Lim Jin-Choong. When the bandit leader ordered all his men to attack, he drew his knives and noted that he might have to enter the fight, but Wang In appeared killed them all, including the fake Goo Hwi. They then set off to find the Golden Castle, and to hunt down Yongbi and Yul Mugi along the way.

Volume 6[]

With his party settling down for the night, Lim Jin-Choong had a drink and bite to eat while sitting on a rooftop. Then Jeok Seong came outside, and swung his sword at a hallucination. Impressed that Jeok Seong was capable of hurling gusts of wind with his sword, Lim Jin-Choong complimented him. After a short conversation about Yongbi, Lim Jin-Choong noted the thick fog that surrounded them.

Volume 7[]

Hot on Yongbi's trail, he and his party entered the Muhae Valley after them. Later, Yongbi set up a decoy with a fake Golden Medallion causing various groups of martial artists to slaughter each other to obtain it. Satisfied with this result, Yongbi started to leave but turn back to watch when Lim Jin-Choong and his comrades entered the fray and slaughtered the other martial artists.

Volume 8[]

Eventually, he and Chomu emerged victorious against the other martial artists with the latter retrieving the fake Golden Medallion. However, the Valley started shaking right after.

Volume 10[]

After the earthquake, Hwangbo Soong wandered aimlessly among the rubble, looking for his hired bodyguards Chomu and Lim Jin-Choong. He was encountered and attacked by a group of martial artists who had gone insane but both Chomu and Lim Jin-Choong arrived in time to save him. Then Hwangbo Soong berated them for leaving him alone and then asked for the Golden Medallion. As Hwangbo Soong examined the medallion, Chomu asked him where Wang In and the attendant was, to which Hwangbo Soong answered that he sent them to scout the area. Upon hearing this, Chomu's expression changed.

After examining the medallion, Hwangbo Soong determined that it was a counterfeit and Lim Jin-Choong confirmed it. Hwangbo Soong and Chomu got into an argument and the latter revealed his betrayal. When Chomu prepared to finish Hwangbo Soong off, the old man called out to someone in the distance for help. Goo Hwi instantly showed up behind the two mercenaries, surprising them, but after determining that the problem was due to internal strife, he left. After Hwangbo Soong desperately offered monetary compensation, Chomu was insulted that the Hwangbo Soong thought so little of him and prepared to kill the old man, boasting that even Goo Hwi (the impostor) ran away him before, not realizing that the person was the real Goo Hwi. At that statement, Goo Hwi returned and gripped Chomu's head in retaliation. Chomu freed himself from Goo Hwi's clutches and tried to break Goo Hwi's arm.

Goo Hwi easily shook off Chomu's attack and sent the latter crashing into a boulder nearby, heavily injuring him. Chomu got up and cried out in pain when he realized that his left wrist and hand were broken. Lim Jin-Choong watched in shock, intimidated by Goo Hwi's feat of strength and wondered who he is. The assassin drew his weapon but hesitated to attack. As he contemplated whether to strike Goo Hwi in the back, Jang-Ryong and Pung-Ho revealed their presence to the assassin and mused about the futility of sneak attacking a man as strong as Goo Hwi. Enraged, Chomu retaliated against Goo Hwi but was once again easily subdued. After Goo Hwi broke Chomu's arm, the latter finally noticed the signature Black Snake tattoo, and realized that this Goo Hwi was the real one. But it was too late to correct his mistake and Goo Hwi killed Chomu with a single slap.

With Chomu dead, Jang-Ryong and Pung-Ho informed Lim Jin-Choong that he just lost his chance to attack Goo Hwi. The assassin saw their tattoo and found out that they were Black Snake members and that the Goo Hwi present was the real deal. The two Black Snake assassins then got up to deal with Lim Jin-Choong but he slashed at them and jumped far away. Upon landing, the assassin discovered that the Black Snake members not only dodged his attack but had cut off both of his legs, and at that, he screamed in pain. It is most likely that Lim Jin-Choong died from his injuries or being unable to escape the Muhae Valley due to losing his legs.

Powers and Abilities[]

He was said to be a first-class assassin.[1] Lim Jin-Choong wielded a retractable blade on both his wrists and throwing knives that were stored in pouches on his bracer. He was proficient with his weapons being able to clash head-on with martial artists in the Muhae Valley.
