This page is about the Murim High Lord of the Old Murim Alliance. For the Murim High Lord from Gosu, go here.

This unnamed character was the Murim High Lord (무림맹주 (武林盟主) , Murim-maengju) of the Old Murim Alliance. He was also one of the Twelve Supreme Masters being the Enlightened Eminence of the Three Eminences (삼존 (三尊), Samjon).

Appearance & Personality[]

The Murim High Lord is an elderly man with a thick white Hollywoodian beard and his eyes appears to be shut constantly. He also wore a coronet crown and luxurious robes befitting his status as the Murim High Lord.

It seems he likes to joke around as seen with his interaction with Ilgak but he can be a serious and capable leader when needed. His interrogation of Ilgak proved that he took his job very seriously.[1] Furthermore, he revealed that the Murim Alliance had been keeping tabs on the Asura Blood Sect all along and were prepared for their eventual return to the Middle Kingdom. He also seemed to be very fond of drinking since his first appearance was one with a bottle of wine in hand (along with three more bottles by his side) and he was the drinking buddy of Hyeon Jae-Yang.[2]

History[]

It appears that he had been the Murim High Lord for at least twenty years before the story of Yongbi the Invincible as he offered Yul Mog-In the choice to live under the protection of the Murim Alliance at their headquarters after the latter returned from the Golden Castle.[1]

After the demonists annihilated the Geumcheonbo headquarters in search of the Golden Medallion, the Murim High Lord personally appointed Ilgak as chief inspector to investigate the incident.[1]

Plot[]

Yongbi the Invincible[]

Volume 15[]

At the Murim Alliance headquarters, Ilgak left after recovering from his injuries sustained in the Muhae Valley. However, on his way out, he encountered the Murim High Lord and they talked about the Geumcheonbo's late master and the events that happened in the Muhae Valley. The Murim High Lord then commanded Ilgak to divulge the details of his investigation before the monk resigns as chief inspector.

Yongbi the Invincible - A Side Story[]

Volume 4[]

At the Murim Alliance's headquarters, the Murim High Lord and Hyeon Jae-Yang lie around having a drink. Hyeon Jae-Yang expressed his discontent with his probation and accused the High Lord of chaining him there just to be his drinking buddy. The High Lord's subordinate showed up and angrily noted that the High Lord and Hyeon Jae-Yang once again damaged the roof in another of their quarrels before announcing that an important guest had arrived. Then going out to meet the guest, it turned out to be none other than the Grand General, Yuk Jingang.

Between the events of Yongbi the Invincible and Gosu (The Master)...

As one of the Twelve Supreme Masters and the Murim High Lord of the Old Murim Alliance, this elderly man was heavily involved in the war against the Asura Blood Sect. Ultimately, the war ended with the Blood Sect's defeat and the Murim Alliance subsequently disbanded. The Murim High Lord's fate is currently unknown.[3]

Powers and Abilities[]

His true strength is unclear but certainly formidable. Considering his status as one of the Twelve Supreme Masters, the Murim High Lord was definitely one of the greatest martial artists in the Middle Kingdom.[4]

  • (To Ilgak) "...Have you been to a red-light district?"[1]
