Yook Somyung

Yook Somyung, the Immortal (불사신 육소명, Bulsasin Yugsomyeong; ''Immortal, Yook Somyung") was a member of the Black Lancers and the younger brother of Yook Socheon.

Appearance & Personality[]

He was a rugged man with hair tied back into a ponytail which is usually concealed with his helmet. He had a scruffy goatee and a prominent scar running horizontally under his left eye. Like his comrades, he wore the standard armor of the Black Lancers.

Yook Somyung described himself as a blockhead who would beat his mentally ill brother. But despite initially finding his brother cumbersome, he had a change of heart after being inducted into the Black Lancers cavalry and admitted that he truly does miss his brother.

History[]

He was orphaned as a baby and his brother who was simple-minded due to being born eight months premature, took care of him. His brother would go begging for food from town to town with him on his back. However, when he grew up, he began to detest his brother and often beat him. Yook Somyung was eventually arrested for murder and forced into the Black Lancers cavalry regiment where he fought desperately to return home. Unfortunately, his dreams never came to fruition as he perished in the final battle at the Yogok Gorge.[1]

Powers and Abilities[]

Like his fellow Black Lancers, Yook Somyung wielded a spear in battle. His friends also gave him the title of "the Immortal" for having survived many battles.
