Plot[]
Yongbi the Invincible[]
Volume 1[]
While setting up for the night, Biryong discovered him floating in the river. Fishing him out, Yongbi wondered where the rich-looking boy came from. In the morning, Yongbi made his presence known to the people pursuing him. Yongbi effortlessly dispatched the two men targeting him When Yul Mugi wokes up, he offered Yongbi a medallion and other expensive items to take him to Hobuk Province.
At his destination, he revealed to Hwangbo Soong, the chief of Geumcheonbo's Hobuk branch, that he gave the medallion to Yongbi which resulted in Hwangbo gathering his guards to retrieve the medallion from him. With the two guards outside his bedroom preoccupied with the chaos surrounding the Golden Medallion, he fashioned a rope out of sheets and escaped his bedroom. He hid in a tree musing about how his father had misjudged Hwangbo's character before escaping over the walls. Eventually, the boy reached the castle gates only to find soldiers guarding it. Then from behind, Goo Hwi grabbed yul Mugi and questioned him on the whereabouts of Yongbi and Biryong. Threatened, the boy lied that Yongbi already left for Mt. Baekta and attempted to enlist the help of Goo Hwi.
Some time later, Yul Mugi woke up from a nightmare about the massacre at Geumcheonbo headquarters and grabbed onto a spear for stability, unwittingly impaling Goo Hwi further. Goo Hwi was woken up by the pain and Yul Mugi pretended to be asleep to escape his wrath. After tending his wounds, Goo Hwi promised revenge on Yongbi and resumed his travels, mentioning that he would drop Yul Mugi off in the first village he came across. As Goo Hwi left, two mysterious men secretly observed him, noting that they could not retrieve Yul Mugi in his presence. Unable to face off against Goo Hwi with just the both of them, they sent a message to their prelate for assistance. As the messenger hawk took flight, a spear flies rapidly from below and impaled the hawk, killing it. Goo Hwi then appeared above the two men inquiring who they were.
Volume 2[]
The mysterious hooded men attacked Goo Hwi with a powerful technique but he withstood it completely unscathed. Goo Hwi angrily prepared to counter attack but unfortunately, the attack before had damaged the tree he was hanging from so the tree trunk crashed down on him. The mysterious men used this opportunity to escape. Goo Hwi then attempted to free himself from the tree trunk only to fall asleep due to his starvation while Yul Mugi looked on bewildered.
Arriving at the Black Snake stronghold on Mount Gwe-Heung, he and Goo Hwi find it empty with the exception of Cruel Moon Archdemon and his subordinates. In the ensuing confrontation, Goo Hwi is incapacitated and Yul Mugi got captured.
Later in a cave, Cruel Moon Archdemon extracted Yul Mugi's soul using the Great Asura Soul Summoning Technique and commanded the soul to reveal the location of the Golden Castle. The soul told him a metaphorical description of the terrain surrounding the Golden Castle and when unable to pry more information from the soul, he asked who took the Golden Medallion to which the soul morphed into the image of Yongbi.
Volume 4[]
In a village, the Asura Blood Sect members killed two Red Bloods agents who came looking for information on Yul Mugi's location. Inside a building, Cruel Moon Archdemon watched the events unfold while eating a meal. Yul Mugi was also lying unconscious on a bed nearby. Cruel Moon Archdemon mentioned that since they were trapped in the Red Blood's web of pursuit, their only choice was to confront them.
Eventually, Hong Ye-Mong herself entered the fray. Arriving at the village, she then entered a building and found Cruel Moon Archdemon (secretly a clone) sitting inside with an unconscious Yul Mugi in his arms. She snatched Yul Mugi from Cruel Moon Archdemon's clutches with her martial art techniques and fought the clone with the boy in her arms. After defeating the clone, Hong Ye-Mong hurried to get Yul Mugi some medical attention.
Volume 6[]
With the Red Bloods disguised as the "Bihak Sect" and Hong Ye-Mong disguised as someone named Sohsoh, they kept Yul Mugi in a secure location. After confirming that Yul Mugi was indeed at the Bihak Sect's headquarters, Yongbi agreed to collaborate with them.
Later at the Bihak Sect's base, Yongbi approached and greeted Yul Mugi. Sitting under a patio, Yongbi gave Yul Mugi back the Golden Medallion however Yul Mugi was aware that the former wanted something in return. Their conversation played out just as Yongbi predicted and Yul Mugi readily agreed to accompany Yongbi's group in their search for the Golden Castle. Meanwhile, Yul Mugi divulged the metaphorical description to Yongbi and Sohsoh, adding that he knew what it refered to. Sohsoh told him that if he told her the terrain features, she would have the geographical location found by night time.
At night, Biryong stealthily consumed several koi fishes in a pond and hid the evidence. Yul Mugi witnessed this but promised Biryong not to tell on him and after musing about the Golden Castle, he added that Yongbi might not survive the search for the castle. The next day, Biryong, Arong, Sohsoh, Yongbi, and Yul Mugi rode off, beginning the journey to the Golden Castle.
Volume 7[]
Yul Mugi's group, now accompanied by Hyeon Jae-Yang and his companion, eventually entered and travelled through the Muhae Valley.
Volume 8[]
Yul Mugi fell ill and Hyeon Jae-Yang decided to infuse Yul Mugi with some of his ki at Ilgak's suggestion. Then as an earthquake started breaking up the ground beneath them, Yul Mugi and his party abandoned their cart and sought refuge in the trees.
Volume 9[]
At some point, Yul Mugi woke up to find himself alone and then he wandered off.
Volume 10[]
As Yul Mugi traveled aimlessly and alone through the valley, he was beset by a madman. However, Arong saved him in time, revealing that she was ordered by Hong Ye-Mong to protect the boy if he ever got separated from them. Furthermore, Ilgak had been protecting Yul Mugi in the shadows but now that the Red Bloods' intelligent "Dragon Horse" was protecting the boy, Ilgak decided to go complete his mission.
Volume 11[]
Arong accompanied Yul Mugi as they traversed underground. The boy looked at all the corpses and tried to console himself that the men deserved their deaths for pursuing the Golden Castle but broke down in tears from remorse.
Later, Arong defended Yul Mugi from the hordes of madmen but started to get tired. The boy yelled at her to leave and attempted to shield her from an attack but Biryong arrived in time to save them. After, Yul Mugi tearfully greeted Yongbi while Arong pummeled Biryong for his perverted advances.
As Yongbi looked through some corpses for suitable weapons, Yul Mugi sat nearby in despair. After being questioned by Yongbi, Yul Mugi revealed that he felt responsible for all the deaths in the Muhae Valley and that to avenge his family, he readily agreed to go to the Muhae Valley which he knew people rarely come back from. Yongbi assured the young boy that the latter was not to blame and that someone so young should not think so hard about such things.
Volume 12[]
Yul Mugi then travelled with Yongbi, Biryong, and Arong, eventually reuniting with Hong Ye-Mong. However, Hong Ye-Mong knocked Yongbi back with one of her techniques. Hong Ye-Mong asked Yul Mugi if he was hurt and after the latter declared that he was fine, Hong Ye-Mong ordered the boy and two horses to stay far away. Yongbi emerged from the rubble and upon seeing Hong Ye-Mong, realized that she was disguised as Sohsoh all along. Right after, Hong Ye-Mong relentlessly assaulted Yongbi while the latter desperately triesd to block the attacks. She paused the attacks briefly to question Yongbi on why he attacked Elder Muk. Because Yongbi was unconscious when it happened, he gave her no answer, causing Hong Ye-Mong to continue her assault, and then obliterated him with her Shocking Lightning Rampage technique. As Yul Mugi angrily questioned Hong Ye-Mong on her motive for killing a comrade, Yongbi hanging onto a stalactite, revealed that he was still alive. Dropping down, Yongbi noted that there must be a misunderstanding and took Yul Mugi hostage to stop Hong Ye-Mong from attacking.
Suddenly, Jeok Seong arrived and approached Yongbi, Biryong galloped over and lovingly greeted his old friend. Jeok Seong confirmed Biryong's identity but continued on towards Yongbi having no quarrel with the horse. Yongbi lifted up Yul Mugi and seated him on Arong before telling her to protect the boy and stay far away. Yul Mugi then watched as Jeok Seong and Yongbi clashed.
Volume 13[]
Yul Mugi continued watching Jeok Seong and Yongbi's confrontation.
Volume 15[]
As one of the volcanos in the Muhae Valley started to erupt, Yul Mugi was seen leaving alongside Arong, Hong Ye-Mong, and a member of the Red Bloods.
With the recent event passing, Yul Mugi paid the Black Snake a visit, and in a meeting with Goo Hwi and Sohee, Yul Mugi proposed to create an information gathering group under the direct command of the Black Snakes since their information network was seriously inept. Upon hearing that Yul Mugi would create the best information group under the command of the Black Snake and in return they would provide an escort when Geumcheonbo transported goods over long distances, Goo Hwi asked the boy why he would consider a band of assassins suitable for that job. Yul Mugi responded that the Black Snake despite being assassins were honorable and never attacked merchants and common folk for private gain. Goo Hwi accepted the deal and then Yul Mugi revealed himself as the second master of Geumcheonbo. As their conversation continued, it was revealed Wang In's reason for leaving the Black Snake and for going to the Muhae Valley as someone's bodyguard was to take care of his ailing daughter. After the ordeal in the Muhae Valley, Hwangbo Soong completely changed his ways and became Yul Mugi's guardian. Furthermore, Yul Mugi asked Goo Hwi for help in tracking Yongbi down as he wanted Yongbi to lead the new Geumcheonbo guard corps that would soon be created.
Some time later, Yul Mugi and Goo Hwi visited Lee Serin for information on Yongbi since he had a run in with him. Goo Hwi then questioned Lee Serin if the latter's bounty had increased (thinking that Lee Serin broken out of jail) in hopes of using Lee Serin as bait for Yongb. Lee Serin responded that the real murderer was caught and he was released from jail. In addition, Lee Serin revealed that he was visited two other times by people (Hong Ye-Mong and Elder Muk, and Ilgak) in search of information on Yongbi. As Goo Hwi and Yul Mugi left, the boy questioned the former if he and Yongbi were going to fight when they meet and Goo Hwi laughed and replied that he would try to hold back.
